29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toe boards: a) Rider Lumber and Home Care Center - The employer did not provide fall protection for employees who walk and work upon the top of the shelving which is approximately 8 feet above ground level. Employees are required to stock and remove supplies from this shelving which is not equipped with guardrails or its equivalent. This was observed on January 16, 2014. Abatement Note: The toe boards are only required when persons can pass, there is moving equipment or there is equipment with which falling materials could create a hazard.
