29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems, nor did the employer demonstrate that it is infeasible or creates a greater hazard to use these systems and develop and implement a fall protection plan which meets the requirements of paragraph (k) of section 1926.502. a) Jobsite located at 14 Bartenura Road, Lakewood NJ: Company employees from SM Siding were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 25 feet to the ground below while using harnesses without being attached to an anchor point to complete the Fall Arrest System while installing the roof on a residence under construction. Observed on or about 1/8/2014.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. a) Jobsite located at 14 Bartenura Road, Lakewood NJ: Company employees from SM Siding were exposed to fall hazards of approximately 25 feet to the ground below while using harnesses without being attached to an anchor point to complete the Fall Arrest System while installing the roof on a residence under construction. The employees were not provided with a training program on fall protection. Observed on or about 1/8/2014.
