OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees. The employer did not require its armed delivery personnel employed at its Central Islip, NY location to wear ballistic vests to protect from the possibility of serious physical injury or death resulting from being shot when making pick-ups and/or drop offs of cash at unsecured locations. Unsecured locations are defined as those to which the public has access.

29 CFR 1910.132(f)(1): The employer did not provide training to each employee who is required by this section to use personal protective equipment: a) Workplace, 1640 Veterans Highway, Central Islip, NY- The employer did not provide training to their employees, which included the appropriate PPE required when exposed to exacerbated injury from not wearing PPE correctly, or at all; on or about 1/17/14. Note: The employer is required to submit abatement certification for this item in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19. Garda Cash logistics was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1910.132(f)(1)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 123192890, citation number 1, item number 1(b) and was affirmed as a final order on 9/16/11, with respect to a workplace located at 320 Avon St., Stratford, CT.
