29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by rotating parts, flying chips: Machine guarding was not provided for the following equipment to protect operators and other employees from laceration and amputation injuries created by rotating parts: a) Plant 1 - Molding machining area - B&P 2016 - Serial # BSM-2016-333-7407 Match - Blomatic Molding Machine. The top of the patent shuttle was not guarded, 43"Wx30"H. b) Plant 2 - Molding machining area - B&P 2016 - Serial # BSM-2016-403-7912. The top of the patent shuttle was not guarded, 43"Wx30"H, and only partial guarding on the left bottom of the patent shuttle. c) Plant 2 - Molding machining area - B&P 2620 - Serial # BSM-2620-127-7210 Match - Blomatic Molding Machine. The top of the patent shuttle was not guarded, 51"Wx29"H. d) Plant 2 - Shake out grinding area - Wheelabrator 14 Cu Ft - Serial # A-129042, no barrier guarding while it is in operation to protect other employees within the area. 29 CFR 1903.19(c)(2) abatement of the above violation was complete on January 29, 2014, no certification is required.
