29 CFR 1910.215(a)(1): Abrasive wheel(s) used on grinding machinery were not used with safety guard(s): The employer does not ensure that abrasive wheel(s) used on grinding machinery were used with safety guard(s). This violation was observed on or about January 23, 2014, in the paint line area where employees were exposed to stuck-by hazards when operating a Cut Off Blade Grinding Machine that had no guard to limit the maximum exposure angle. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that the abrasive wheel is guarded properly.

This violation was observed on or about January 23, 2014, in the paint line area where employees were exposed to stuck-by hazards when operating a Cut Off Blade Grinding Machine that had no guard to cover the spindle nut and flange. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that the spindle nut and flange are guarded.
