On or about January 24, 2014, and times prior thereto, employees were using portable grinders without safety guards in the grinding and polishing areas.  This condition exposed employees to struck-by hazards.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A): Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure.    On or about January 24, 2014, and times prior thereto, a piece of an electrical flexible cord was connected to a receptacle, and used as substitute for fixed wiring at the grinding and polishing area, to power a fluorescent light fixture hung from the ceiling.  This condition exposed employees to electrical hazards.
