29 CFR 1910.176(a): Aisle(s) or passageway(s) were not kept clear where mechanical handling equipment was used:    a/ EDS Distribution LLC /Sayreville NJ Site: Warehouse. Aisles were not maintained free of storage and equipment in the event of a fire or other emergency, including but not limited to the    1/ South side Staging Area:  Aisles located adjacent to the primary metal storage racks were blocked by recently received boxes of product, e.g.,clothes, socks, shoes and staged near the shipping/receiving dock.  2/ East-side Packaging Area: Aisles leading to/from employee(s) work station were blocked by wooden pallets of product, cardboard boxes of product and other storage.  3/ East-side Customer Returns Area:  All Aisles (except Aisle #15) located between the primary metal storage racks were blocked by boxes of product, powered industrial trucks (during break/lunch) and pedestal fans.    Observed on/or about 1/29/2014.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):: Machine guarding was not provided to protect operator(s) and other employees from hazard(s) created by stamping action of Baler ram:    a/ EDS Distribution, LLC/Sayreville NJ site: Warehouse Baler Operation Area. Baler (vertical with no markings) had a broken limit switch allowing the ram to continue operating when the door/gate was in the open position.    Observed on/or about 01/29/2014.

29 CFR 1910.145(c)(3): Safety instruction signs were not used where there is a need for general instructions and suggestions relative to safety measures:  a/ EDS Distribution, LLC/Sayreville  NJ site - Yard/Propane Storage Area:  A "No Smoking" sign was not provided where standard size Propane tanks (used to power forklift trucks) are stored in a metal cage.   Observed on/or about 01/29/2014.
