29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure: a. On or about January 29, 2014, at the above addressed jobsite, employees tearing old shingles from the 6/12 pitched roof were exposed to falls of approximately 20 feet due to the lack of a fall protection system. Franos Construction Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314173899, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on April 12, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at 629 Highland in Oak Park, IL.
