Employees working in a painting area were exposed to potential fire hazards due to the accumulation of flammable residue on columns, lighting, walls, and overhead structural pieces such as trusses.

Employees working in a paint spraying area/room were exposed to fire hazards in that there was no automatic sprinkler system, or other approved means of fire protection, in the spray area where flmmable paints were used.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) For the facility at 1335 Thomas Ave., Leesburg, FL 34748, as observed on or about 01/29/2014. Employees used horizontal metal band saws in the fabrication area which had eight-inch sections of the bandsaw blades unguarded. The unguarded blades exposed employees to potential cuts and lacerations.

29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(iii): Flexible cords and cables were not connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief was provided that would prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws: a) For the facility at 1335 Thomas Rd., Leesburg, FL 34748, as observed on or about 01/29/2014. In that strain relief issues were present with power cords at the facility at the following locations: 1. the flexible power cord for a welding unit had damaged outer insulation resulting in a strain relief issue at its plug. 2. the power cords on the shop floor had outer insulation pulled away from their plugs resulting in a strain relief issue.
