29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.95(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent: a) On or about February 5, 2014 - Molding room, the employer did not administer an effective hearing conservation program that included elements such as, but not limited to, implementing an exposure monitoring program; providing audiometric testing; providing a variety of hearing protectors and; ensuring that employees were informed of the disadvantages and advantages and instructions on fitting, use and care of hearing protector(s). Inspector/Packer - An employee was exposed to continuous noise levels at 62% of the allowable 8-hr time-weighted average level (TWA) or an equivalent level of approximately 86.5dBA. The sampling was conducted for 433 minutes during one shift on February 5, 2014. NOTE: Due to the extended work shift, the OSHA allowable 8hr TWA level of 85dB is reduced to 82dB for a 12hr period. Inspector/Packer - An employee was exposed to continuous noise levels at 51.6% of the allowable 8-hr time-weighted average level (TWA) or an equivalent level of approximately 85.2dBA. The sampling was conducted for 448 minutes during one shift on February 5, 2014. NOTE: Due to the extended work shift, the OSHA allowable 8hr TWA level of 85dB is reduced to 82dB for a 12hr period.
