29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2): The employer did not verify that the required workplace hazard assessment has been performed through a written certification which included the requirements as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.132(d)(2): Jobsite Aura Bar & Grill Kitchen: Where chemical splashing hazards were present or likely to be present, the employer did not ensure that the workplace hazard assessment was done for employees working in the kitchen spraying, pouring and/or cleaning with liquid chemicals, including but not limited to, Clorox Bleach (pH 11.9) and Clean Force Degreaser (a corrosive, caustic liquid with a pH of 13.5). These employees were not required to wear the proper eye or face protection. There was an incident (on January 18th, 2014) where an employee sustained an eye injury after a Clorox Bleach splashing accident. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: Jobsite Aura Bar & Grill Kitchen: The employer did not ensure that each affected employee used appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to liquid chemicals, including but not limited to, Clorox Bleach (pH 11.9) and Clean Force Degreaser (a corrosive, caustic liquid with a pH of 13.5). There was an injury on January 28th, 2014, where an employee sustained an injury to his right eye while working with Clorox Bleach. The employee was not wearing any eye or face protection, wasnt properly trained on the use of PPE and the employer does not enforce PPE use. Tamarin Lodging, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection #834563, citation 1, item 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 18th, 2013, with respect to the workplace located at 2500 Tamarin Ridge Road, Lincoln, NE 68512. Abatement certification is required for this violation. The abatement certification sheet is enclosed with the citations.
