29 CFR 1926.300(a): Condition of tools. All hand and power tools and similar equipment, whether furnished by the employer or the employee, shall be maintained in a safe condition.    On or about February 14, 2014, at the jobsite located at 10210 Barringer Foreman Rd., Baton Rouge, LA, the employer allowed an employee to utilize a "Rigid" brand drill with two deficiencies;     a) A large section of the plastic covering was broken away from the handle thereby negating the protective double insulating capability of the drill.    b) The power cord attached to the drill was missing the protective cover thereby exposing energized wiring.
