29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling: (a) Building 1, Office #12A; A gray extension cord was plugged into a relocatable power tap which powered a desk lamp, head set and phone charger. The UL listing states that relocatable power taps are designed to be plugged into an outlet, and not daisy chained and plugged into other relocatable power taps or extension cords. This exposes employees to possible electrical fire hazards. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration was previously cited for a violation of this standard which was contained in OSHA inspection no. 906829 citation 2, item 4, issued on June 4, 2013 with respect to a workplace at Pasco, Washington. 29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent: a) Building 1; An exit sign was not posed over the front door which exited the office suite. b) Building 1; A directional sign was not posted on the wall next to the moveable file storage area indicating direction of travel to the nearest exit.
