29 CFR 1910.217(c)(2)(i)(b): Point of operation guard(s) on mechanical power press(es) did not conform to the maximum permissible opening(s) specified in Table 10 O-10: Fabrication Areas: Employees were exposed to laceration/amputation hazards while operating part-revolution mechanical power presses operating in continuous mode where the openings in the point of operation guards did not conform to Table O-10. The presses with the inadequate guards include the following: 1. Line 23 - Second press (V&O) - an 11-inch x 12-inch opening under the unused discharge chute approximately 10- inches from the point of operation; 2. Line 22 - First press (L&J) - an 11-inch x 12-inch opening under the discharge chute approximately 12- inches from the point of operation; 3. Line 21B - Second press (Minster) - an opening to the right of the front guard 2 7/8-inches wide approximately 9- inches from the point of operation; 4. Line 21B - First Press (Perkins) - an 3 1/2-inch x 12 3/4-inch opening at the discharge side approximately 15- inches from the point of operation; 5. Line 21A - Second press (V&O) - an 9-inch x 10-inch opening where the hinged guard was left open to accommodate an air chute for discharging parts, approximately 10-inches from the point of operation.
