29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) The employer did not ensure that employees installing slate roofing on a steep roof with a pitch of seven (7) in twelve (12), vertical to horizontal, were protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. This violation occurred when employees were allowed to work on the steep roof without fall protection with the eave of the roof located twenty-four (24) feet above the lower level.
