The age and nature of this thermal system insulation on the pipe(s) meets the criteria of presumed asbestos-containing material (PACM); for which maintenance staff was not instructed as to recognition & reporting evidence of damage / deterioration.  Condition(s) were noted on or about 2/28/2014.  **NOTE** Employee(s) who perform repair & maintenance duties where ACM / PACM is likely to be disturbed must be trained in accordance with requirements of Class III Asbestos work; and shall be consistent with EPA training for local education agency maintenance and custodial staff set forth at 40 CFR 763.92(a)(2), and shall take at least 16 hours.
