29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(13): The top or top step of a stepladder was used as a step:  a. On or about March 12, 2014, three employees used a 6-foot Werner a-frame ladder improperly, in that the top step was used to access/egress the top of a structure, exposing the employees to a fall hazard.

Bilt Rite Construction and Remodeling, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 948103, citation 01, item number 002a, issued on December 30, 2013, with respect to a workplace at SW 80th Drive, Gainesville, Florida 32608. The final order date was January 22, 2014.  29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b):  a. On or about March 12, 2014, on top of a structure, two employees performing framing operations were not protected from a 10-foot 7-inch fall hazard by use of a fall protection system.
