OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards associated with improper automobile lift operations:       a) On or about March 12, 2014 and at times prior to that date, employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards while working around automotive lifts as follows:          1. A vehicle lift that was not functioning properly was occasionally used by the employees.         2. Lifts were not provided with identification plates indicating their model and serial number.        3. Lifts were not provided with warning labels indicating their load limit and rated capacity.       Abatement note:     Feasible and acceptable methods to correct these hazardous conditions would be to follow the requirements in accordance to the instructions required in the ANSI/ALI ALOIM: 2008 Safety requirements for operation, inspection, and maintenance standard which includes but is not limited to the following:         1. Have the vehicle lift taken out of service and be repaired or replaced.          2. Provide the lifts with identification plates indicating their model and serial number.         3. Provide the lifts with warning labels indicating their load limits and rated capacity.

29 CFR 1910.37(b)(6): Each exit sign must be illuminated to a surface value of at least five foot-candles (54 lux) by a reliable light source and be distinctive in color. Self-luminous or electroluminescent signs that have a minimum luminance surface value of at least .06 foot-lamberts (0.21 cd/m2) are permitted.      a) On or about March 12, 2014 and at times prior, employees were exposed to entrapment because six exit signs would not be visible in the event of an emergency. The exit signs were not illuminated.
