29 CFR 1926.153(k)(1): Storage outside of buildings, for containers awaiting use, shall be located from the nearest building or group of buildings, in accordance with the following: TABLE F-3 _______________________________________ Quantity of LP-Gas stored Distance (feet) 501 to 6,000 lbs............ 10 a. On the north side of the building, a propane tank was placed 5 feet from the side of the building, exposing employees to a contact hazard. b. On the south side of the building, a propane tank was placed 3 feet from the side of the building, exposing employees to a contact hazard.

29 CFR 1926.153(o): "Damage from vehicles." When damage to LP-Gas systems from vehicular traffic is a possibility, precautions against such damage shall be taken. a. At the west entrance to the construction site where employees were operating a skid steer and adjacent to vehicular traffic, two propane tanks were not protected from damage, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard. b. On the north side of the building where employees operated an aerial lift, a propane tank was not protected from damage, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard. c. b. On the north/east side of the building where employees operated equipment and adjacent to vehicular traffic, a propane tank was not protected from damage, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard. d. On the south side of the building where employees operated a mini-excavator, a propane tank was not protected from damage, thereby exposing employees to a contact hazard.
