29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  The employer did not provide fall protection to employees who were working near unprotected side or edges at heights above 6 feet. This violation was observed on or about March 17, 2014, at the commercial construction site where an employee was exposed to fall hazards while working on the roof of a building at heights approximately 12 feet without a fall protection system.   Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all employees performing construction activities at heights greater than six feet are protected from falling.
