29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) Wood framed Structure: On or about March 12, 2014and at times prior, Brinkmann Constructors, as a controlling employer, did not ensure that Kancor, Inc, protected their employees from falling while they walked and worked on the 10 feet high second story deck without the use of adequate fall protection. (b) RB2.1 Near sublevel elevator opening: One or about March 12, 2014, and at times prior, a worker was exposed to falling 6ft 1 inch into the wall opening for an elevator shaft that was not properly guarded. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet).
