29 CFR 1910.1000(a)(2): Employee(s) were exposed to an airborne concentration of Carbon Monoxide listed in Table Z-1 in excess of the 8 hour Time Weighted Average concentration of 50 parts per million:    a.)    Pennsylvania Sintered Metals dba PSM Brown Company, Inc., 2950 Whittimore Rd, Emporium, PA-Sinter metal oven area next to Endothermic Gas Generator (#21901G), on or about March 21, 2014, and times prior thereto:  A Company employee was exposed to Carbon Monoxide at a time weighted average (TWA) of 61 parts per million (ppm), which was approximately 1.2 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm. The exposure level was derived from one sample collected over 239 minutes and assumed zero exposure for the remaining work shift.

29 CFR 1910.1000(e): Feasible administrative or engineering controls were not determined and implemented to achieve compliance with the limits prescribed in 29 CFR 1910.1000(a) through (d):    a.) Pennsylvania Sintered Metals dba PSM Brown Company, Inc., 2950 Whittimore Rd, Emporium, PA-Sinter metal oven area next to Endothermic Gas Generator (#21901G), on or about March 21, 2014, and times prior thereto:  A Company employee was exposed to Carbon Monoxide at a time weighted average (TWA) of 61 parts per million (ppm), which was approximately 1.2 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm. The exposure level was derived from one sample collected over 239 minutes and assumed zero exposure for the remaining work shift.  Administrative or engineering controls were not in place to maintain employee carbon monoxide exposure levels below the PEL.

Pennsylvania Sintered Metals dba PSM Brown Company, Inc., 2950 Whittimore Rd, Emporium, PA-Sinter metal oven area next to Endothermic Gas Generator (#21901G), on or about March 21, 2014, and times prior thereto:  A Company employee was exposed to Carbon Monoxide at a time weighted average (TWA) of 61 parts per million (ppm), which was approximately 1.2 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 50 ppm. The company had not previously conducted air monitoring to determine the Sintering furnace operators Carbon Monoxide exposure.
