29 CFR 1926.501(b)(4)(ii): Each employee on a walking/working surface shall be protected from tripping in or stepping into or through holes (including skylights) by covers. 625 Father Capodanno Blvd., Staten Island, NY - Holes in the center walking / working area of the oval area of the track at track level were not covered to prevent employees from tripping and or falling. a. Within the oval area - the landing pits and pole vault planting holes were not covered to prevent employees from tripping and or falling into the hole. b. The elevated area of the track circumferencing the oval area was not covered to prevent employees working in the area from tripping and or falling into the hole as they entered and exited from the oval area of the athletic field. Violation observed on or about 03/18/2014.
