29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use [ANSIZ358.1-2004]:     a. On or about 03/18/14, at the dishwashing area, at Goddard Catering Group, St. Thomas, VI. An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled Sanitation Solutions corrosive products such as Grease Go (sodium hydroxide), Super Dry 3000 (potassium hydroxide) and Rinse 3000 (sodium hypochlorite) during dishwashing operations.     NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    a. On or about 03/18/14, at the dishwashing area, at Goddard Catering Group, St. Thomas, VI. The employer did not develop a written hazard communication program when employees used and/or handled Sanitation Solutions corrosive products such as Grease Go (sodium hydroxide), Super Dry 3000 (potassium hydroxide) and Rinse 3000 (sodium hypochlorite) during dishwashing operations.     NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

On or about 03/18/14, at the dishwashing area, at Goddard Catering Group, St. Thomas, VI. The employer did not ensure to have safety data sheets for Sanitation Solutions corrosive products such as Grease Go (sodium hydroxide), Super Dry 3000 (potassium hydroxide) and Rinse 3000 (sodium hypochlorite) used and/or handled by employees during dishwashing operations.   NOTE:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.
