29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Employer did not ensure each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  A). 222 East 104th Street, New York, NY 10019  Employees were moving materials from the ground level to the second floor. Employees standing at or near the edge of the building were reaching and bending to grab materials being passed up to them from below. The Employees on the second floor were not protected from falling by means of Personal Fall Protection, Guardrails or Safety Net Systems.  NOTE:  THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
