29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use [ANSIZ358.1-2004]:     a. On or about 03/19/14, at the dishwashing area, at Kmart #3829, at Tutu Park Mall, St. Thomas, VI.  An emergency eye wash station was not provided in the immediate area when employees used and/or handled corrosive products such as Diversey Final Step Sanitizer (ammonium chloride), Pro-Strength Liquid-Plumr Full Clog Destroyer (sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide) during dishwashing and kitchen maintenance operations.       NOTE:  Certification of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c).

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8):  The employer did not ensure that Safety Data Sheets were readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they were in their work area(s)  a. On or about 03/19/14, at the dishwashing area, at Kmart #3829, at Tutu Park Mall, St. Thomas, VI. The employer did not ensure to have safety data sheets readily available for hazardous products such as Diversey Final Step Sanitizer (ammonium chloride), Pro-Strength Liquid-Plumr Full Clog Destroyer (sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide), Ajax High Performance Degreaser and Dawn P&G 84982413 (alcohol sulfates) used and/or handled by employees during dishwashing and kitchen maintenance operations.   NOTE: Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item since it was submitted prior to citation issuance. Please disregard the abatement date.
