29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. The employer does not ensure that each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling. This violation was observed on or about April 03, 2014 when employees were exposed to a fall hazard greater than 6 feet when doing framing work without a fall protection system. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure employees on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level is protected from falling.
