1926.102(a)(1): Employees shall be provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents. An employee engaged in sheathing activities was exposed to struck by hazards in the eye when using a pneumatic nail gun because eye protection was not used.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. An employee engaged in sheathing activities was exposed to a fall hazard of approximately 21 ft., and fall protection was not being used. Larame Melcher dba Melchers Quality Construction was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 924440, citation number 1, item number 3A and was affirmed as a final order on October 1, 2013, with respect to a workplace located at Lot 504 E. Country Ridge Drive Mahomet, IL 61853.
