Employees were doing repairs on the parapet wall using orange and yellow extension cords to power drills and saw.        NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  On or about 4/14/2014    Location: 424 W 33 Street, New York, N.Y.  a) Employees were exposed to 110 ft fall hazard along the unprotected edge, north side of the roof. Employees were repairing the parapet wall at the edge of the roof without using any form of fall protection.      NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
