29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employer did not ensure his employees were not working in such proximity to any part of an electric power circuit that the employee could contact the electric power circuit in the course of work, unless the employee is protected against electric shock by deenergizing the circuit and grounding it or by guarding it effectively by insulation or other means. Loaction: 123 William Street, New York, NY 10038, Building Lobby (under construction) Wall deviding starway from Elevator Bank. A). Employee was pulling BX (electrical Wires) through the existing wall to a receptical in the stairway. While pulling the metal BX shielded cable accidental contact with an energized exposed 1900 junction box was made creating a small arc flash. The employee was not protected from electric shock or burns by any means of personal protection or by de-energizing this receptical. NOTE: BECAUSE ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION IS ALREADY DOCUMENTED IN THE CASE FILE, THE EMPLOYER NEED NOT SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OR DOCUMENTATION OF ABATEMENT OF THIS VIOLATION AS NORMALLY REQUIRED BY 29 CFR 1903.19.
