29 CFR 1926.502(h)(1)(v): The safety monitor had other responsibilities which could take the monitor's attention from the monitoring function: a) Roof MDs, LLC on or about April 30, 2014 at the address of 5503 Milan Rd. Sandusky, OH: The employer failed to ensure the safety monitors only responsibility was the monitoring function. The designated worker charged with monitoring employees performing roofing work on a low slope roof, partook in activities such as fastening/installing roofing and flashing material. These actions took his attention away from employees working near the roofs perimeter. Employees were exposed to a potential 13 ft. fall to the ground below.
