29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels was not protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) On April 22, 2014, and times prior thereto, at the Southern Oaks Lane jobsite in St. Simons Island, GA, the employer failed to ensure that workers were fall-protected while installing shingles on the mid-level steep-roof of Building 6, exposing employees to falls of 13 ft. 4.5 in. to the ground. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.
