29 CFR 1926.451(e)(8): Direct access to or from another surface was used when the scaffold was more than 14 inches (36 cm) horizontally and/or 24 inches (61 cm) vertically from the other surface: On or about May 01, 2014, employees engaged in masonry activities on a commercial building were exposed to an unprotected fall hazard when jumping back-and-forth from the scaffold systems to the second, third and fourth floor balconies. The Galindo & Boyd Wall Systems, LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.451(e)(8) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 893174, citation number 01, item number 002B and was affirmed as a final order on 04/10/2013, with a final abatement date of 03/29/2013, with respect to a workplace located at 401 Highway 243 Canton, Texas 75103.
