29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b). The employer does not protect employees from falling when working 6 feet or more above lower levels. This violation was observed on or about May 14, 2014, at the construction site on the east side of the house where employees were exposed to a 20 foot fall hazard when performing roofing activities on a residential structure without a fall protection system. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels are protected from falling

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purposes for which they were designed. The employer does not ensure that ladders are being used only for purposes for which they were designed. This violation was observed on or about May 14, 2014 where employees were exposed to a fall hazard while using a stepladder to gain access to the roof for which it was not designed. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that all ladders are being used in ways for which they are designed.
