29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladders were used for purposes other than the purposes for which they were designed: On or about May 1, 2014 an employee working at a temporary site, at loading area of building utilized a self-supporting ladder commonly known as an A frame ladder, without spreading the locking mechanism designed to hold the front and back sections in an open position. The employee was repositioning debris to prevent littering on the adjacent street.
