29 CFR 1910.242(b): Compressed air used for cleaning purposes was not reduced to less than 30 p.s.i.: a) CNC machine area: Employees were using compressed air nozzles with air pressures of 50 p.s.i. and 90 p.s.i to remove metals chips from CNC machines. Pressure reducers or relief devices were not used to reduce air pressure to below 30 p.s.i. exposing employees to injuries from flying particulates, on or about May 22, 2014. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
