Air pressure measurements from the air nozzle read between 87 and 92 p.s.i. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(i): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the identity of the hazardous chemical(s) contained therein: (a) On or about May 23, 2014, North American Electroless Nickel Inc. did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged, or marked with the identity of the hazardous chemical(s) contained therein. Tanks including, but not limited to the nickel strike, nickel boron nitride, and nickel rinse tank (presol 5140) were not labeled with the identity of the hazardous chemicals contained therein. Hazardous chemicals in these tanks include, but are not limited to: sodium hydroxide, nickel sulfate, and nickel chloride. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. Tanks containing rinse water and alkaline solution were illegible impairing employee(s) ability to identify the hazard warnings and contents. The tank containing presol 5340 (sodium hydroxide) was illegible, and impaired employees ability to identify the hazard warnings and contents of the chemicals contained therein. 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iv): The details of the hazard communication program developed by the employer, did not include an explanation of the labels received on shipped containers and the workplace labeling system used by their employer; the safety data sheet, including the order of information and how employee could obtain and use the appropriate hazard information: (a) On or about May 23, 2014, North American Electroless Nickel Inc. did not train employees regarding the label elements including pictograms and the new 16 section safety data sheet format by December 1, 2013. Employees were exposed to hazardous chemicals that include, but are not limited to: sulfuric acid, nitric acid, nickel chloride, and hydrochloric acid. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
