OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing and struck-by hazards associated with improper automobile lift operations: a) On or about May 29, 2014 and times prior, employees were exposed to crushing, struck-by, and amputation hazards while working around automotive lifts as follows: 1) Lifts were not inspected periodically by a qualified inspector. 2) Lifts were not inspected daily during use to ensure that they were properly maintained and functional. 3) Lifts were not locked while servicing vehicles. 4) Employees were not properly trained on operating the vehicle lifts. 5) Lifts were not periodically maintained in accordance with the recommendation of the lift manufacturer.
