29 CFR 1926.501(b)(14): Each employee working on, at, above, or near wall openings (including those with chutes attached), where the outside bottom edge of the wall opening was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels and the inside bottom edge of the wall opening is less than 39 inches (1.0 M) above the walking/working surface, was not protected from falling by the use of a guardrail system, a safety net system, or a personal fall arrest system:   (a) On or about May 25th, 2014, at a worksite located at 1370 E 27th Street in Kansas City, MO, employees were exposed to fall hazards of greater than 6 feet while working on the 3rd floor of a building which was under construction in that a number of wall openings existed where the inside bottom edges of the openings rose less than 39 inches, and no guardrail system or alternative form of fall protection systems were in place or in use.   Abatement certification is required for this Item.  Use the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET for this purpose.  NOTE:  IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
