29 CFR 1910.23(e)(1): Standard railing(s) did not consist of top rail, intermediate rail and/or posts and/or did not have a vertical height of 42 inches (106.7 cm) nominal from upper surface of top rail to floor, platform runway, or ramp level:    In the Hard Anodized Prep Overhead Storage area, the area was guarded with a railing that was approximately 32" high, exposing employees to a fall hazard of approximately 10 feet to the concrete floor below.  The Lab Manager stated that he gets up in this area a couple of times a year.  The maintenance lead reported that he gets in this area.  The hard anodized area employees get up on the second level daily, because they stage parts in this area.

METAL FINISHING CO., INC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.305(b)(1)(ii)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 315087338, citation number 01, item number 012 and was affirmed as a final order on (7-11-2011), with respect to a workplace located at 1423 S. McLean Blvd, Wichita, KS 67213.
