29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems: On or about 6/3/2014, on the front of the school facing Hwy 930, located in Prairieville, Louisiana, the employer allowed employee(s) to attach sheet metal roofing to the 4 in 12 pitch roof at a height of thirty seven feet without fall protection. The employer, Orleans Sheet Metal Works & Roofing Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1926.501 (b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314770702, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on September 07, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 727 Ursulines Street, New Orleans, LA 70119.
