The employer does not protect employees on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems or personal fall arrest systems. This violation was observed on or about June 6, 2014, at the apartment complex site where employees were exposed to falls greater than 6 feet while applying roofing material without a fall protection system.     Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure that employees are protected from falling when exposed to falls 6 feet or more while working on a steep roof.
