29 CFR 1926.95(a): Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, were not provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it was necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact: Next to the small building roof: Eye protection was not worn when a 110 VAC screw gun was used to secure metal sheets to the building with screws or when using Standing Seam Construction Seam caulk to seal the seamed roof. The material safety data sheet for the caulk indicates to use goggles. Employees were exposed to the hazard of caulk and metal shavings contacting their eyes and metal sheets and screws striking their eyes.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(1) referenced by 29 CFR 1926.59: The employers did not have a material safety data sheet in the workplace for each hazardous chemical which they use: At the project: There was no material safety data sheet for the Rubex Standing Seam Construction Sealant used to seal the roof seam. Employees did not know they should have worn eye protection when applying the sealant. Employees were exposed to the hazard of the sealant contacting their eyes.
