29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: (a) Marriott Hotel at 2 Boland Way Springfield, MA: On or about May 21, 2014 two employees were photographed working at a roof edge more than 16 feet above a lower roof surface without any fall protection. Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).

29 CFR 1926.1051(a): A stairway or ladder was not provided at all personnel points of access where there is a break in elevation of 19 inches (48 cm) or more, and no ramp, runway, sloped embankment, or personnel hoist was provided: (a) Marriott Hotel at 2 Boland Way Springfield, MA: On or about May 21, 2014, three employees were observed climbing to an upper roof level that was 50 inches above the lower level without the use of a ladder or other acceptable means of access.
