29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: This violation was observed on June 12, 2014, at the jobsite located at 585 South I-35E, De Soto, Texas; employees were not protected from point of operation, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Fabrication Department, two (2) Delta drill presses (model #11-950, serial # W0040, 7-1/4-inch drill bit and model #11-950, serial #S-W0040 with ¼-inch drill bit); b) Two (2) Jet Drill Presses (model #SDP-17MF, serial #7050056 and model #JDP17MF, serial #7050161, both with ½-inch drill bit); c) Commercial Department Delta Shop Master Drill Press (model # S023666, serial #M-DP300 with 12-inch drill bit); d) Horizontal table saw in the Commercial Department; e) Shower Department Costruzioni Meccaniche Besana edging machine (model # R6V, serial #1680785) and the rotating belts.
