29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1): 29 CFR 1926.652(a)(1) Each employee in an excavation was not protected from cave-ins by an adequate protective system designed in accordance with 29 CFR 1926.652(b) or (c):    a) On or about 6/17/14 at a water line project located on Mohawk Avenue in Buffalo, New York; an employee was in the excavation placing concrete blocks near the valve. The excavation was approximately 5'6" deep with a vertical wall on the north side and unsupported pavement on the west side of the excavation. There was no cave-in protection in place at the time the employee was placing the blocks.    NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
