29 CFR 1926.1060(a): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee using ladders and stairways, as necessary, which would enable each employee to recognize hazards related to ladders and stairways and train each employee in the procedures to be followed to minimize these hazards. (a) Jobsite, 12420 Linshan Drive, North Huntingdon, PA: On or about 06/16/14 the employer had not provided a training program for each employee that uses ladders to ensure the employee was able to recognize hazards related to ladder use and what procedures should be followed to minimize these hazards. An employee, who had not received training from the employer, incorrectly set up a ladder and did not maintain the proper angle of vertical to horizontal. The ladder slid and the employee rode the ladder down to the lower level sustaining head and face injuries.
