29 CFR 1910.134(k)(6): The employer did not provide the basic advisory information on respirators, as presented in Appendix D of this section, in any written or oral format to employees who wear respirators when such use is not required by this section or by the employer:  (a)Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. at 12300 N Grant Street, Thornton, CO:  On and preceding 6/19/14, Ascent Solar Technologies Inc did not provide the basic advisory information on respirators, as presented in Appendix D of this section, in any written or oral format to employees who wear respirators when such use is not required by this section or by the employer.  Ascent Solar Technologies Inc permitted employees to voluntarily wear 3M model 8210 N95 filtering facepiece respirators when working in the Final Assembly area.  The employer did not provide the basic advisory information, as presented in Appendix D, to employees.  This condition potentially exposed employees to a respiratory hazard.

29 CFR 1910.1027(k)(1):  Surfaces were not maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of cadmium:  (a)Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. at 12300 N Grant Street, Thornton, CO:  On and preceding 6/19/14, Ascent Solar Technologies Inc did not ensure that surfaces were maintained as free as practicable of accumulations of cadmium.  Employees in the Final Assembly area processed solar power cells.  The solar power cells contained cadmium sulfide.  Wipe sampling detected the presence of cadmium at the Final Assembly area cutting station and on the Final Assembly area exit door handle.  This condition potentially exposed employees to a cadmium hazard.

29 CFR 1910.1027(m)(4)(i): The employer did not institute a training program for all employees who are potentially exposed to cadmium, ensure employee participation in the program, and maintain a record of the contents of such program:  (a)Ascent Solar Technologies, Inc. at 12300 N Grant Street, Thornton, CO:  On and preceding 6/19/14, Ascent Solar Technologies Inc did not institute a training program for all employees who are potentially exposed to cadmium, ensure employee participation in the program, and maintain a record of the contents of such program.  Employees in the Final Assembly area processed solar power cells.  The solar power cells contained cadmium sulfide.  The employees were potentially exposed to cadmium during Final Assembly processing.
