29 CFR 1926.1101(h)(3)(iv)(A):  A tight-fitting powered air-purifying respirator or a full facepiece, supplied-air respirator operated in the pressure-demand mode and equipped with either HEPA egress cartridges or an auxiliary positive-pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) was not provided to employees in a regulated area performing Class I asbestos work for which a negative exposure assessment was not available and the exposure assessment indicated that the exposure level will be at or below 1 f/cc as an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA):  a)  On or about June 19, 2014, and at times prior, the employer did not provide employees performing Class I asbestos abatement work inside of a regulated area (containment area) with a full-face powered air-purifying respirator or a supplied air respirator.  Employees were performing removal of drywall and ceiling which was covered by asbestos containing surfacing material while wearing half-face air-purifying respirators.  A negative exposure assessment had not been conducted for these employees and was not used as the basis for respirator selection.

Removal work began on June 18, 2014, but personal air monitoring was not conducted until June 19, 2014.
