29 CFR 1926.95(a): Personal protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, was not provided, used, or maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition where it was necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation, or physical contact: a) An employee was using a pneumatic nail gun without eye protection exposing him to struck-by hazards, on or about 06/26/14. The Cordova Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.95(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 945385, citation number 1,item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/27/13, with respect to a workplace located at 2501-2515 Ralph Ellison Way, NE, Washington, DC, 20018. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
